As a P&C Business Partner Consultant within TELUS Health Employer Solutions, you will be the dedicated end-to-end people partner for Directors managing Absence & Disability Management, Workers' Compensation, and Safety operations. You will serve as their trusted advisor, culture champion, and hands-on problem solver, seamlessly moving between long-term strategic people priorities and day-to-day operational support. This role demands someone who is equally comfortable shaping a multi-year talent strategy as they are navigating a sensitive employee relations matter with care and precision.

Requirements

  • Full professional proficiency in both English and French (written and verbal)
  • Minimum 3+ years in a People & Culture Business Partner or senior HR generalist role within a large, complex matrix organization
  • Proven experience providing dedicated business partner support to Director-level leaders, including coaching through complex and sensitive situations
  • Demonstrated hands-on experience managing employee relations cases, performance improvement plans, and terminations with sound judgment and legal awareness
  • Experience leading business units through comprehensive annual P&C cycles including talent reviews, succession planning, and year-end compensation programs
  • Comfort navigating and supporting AI-driven people initiatives and a curiosity for emerging HR technology
  • Self-directed professional with the ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and navigate ambiguity with confidence
  • Strong conceptual thinking with a proven ability to translate strategy into clear, executable action plans
  • Sound professional judgment, strong business acumen, and a high degree of emotional intelligence
  • Current knowledge of provincial employment law, HR theory, and best practices across Canada
  • Post-secondary degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or a related field; CPHR designation is an asset
  • Advanced knowledge of English is required, because you will, on a regular basis, interact in English with external parties (clients, suppliers, candidates, external partners, etc.), interact in English with internal parties (colleagues, internal partners, stakeholders, etc.), as part of this position's main responsibilities, given its national scope.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the dedicated P&C Business Partner for a defined Director-level leadership team, providing end-to-end strategic and operational people support across the full employee lifecycle
  • Lead annual P&C programs including year-end compensation planning, performance calibration, and merit review processes in partnership with your Director team
  • Facilitate talent reviews and succession planning cycles, identifying high-potential team members, building talent pipelines, and advising leaders on development strategies
  • Champion and support AI-driven people initiatives, helping leaders understand and adopt emerging tools and practices that enhance team productivity and the employee experience
  • Analyze engagement survey results, partnering with leaders to design and implement meaningful, measurable engagement action plans
  • Translate HR analytics, including talent movement, attrition, and performance data into actionable business insights and data-driven recommendations
  • Coach and develop Director-level leaders on people leadership capabilities, change management, and team effectiveness
  • Manage employee relations cases with discretion, ensuring fair process, thorough documentation, and alignment with TELUS policies and provincial employment law
  • Partner with Legal, Labour Relations, and other internal stakeholders to manage sensitive legal files, including human rights complaints, workplace investigations, and accommodation requests
  • Advise and support leaders through performance improvement plan (PIP) processes — from initial documentation through to outcome, ensuring consistency and fairness
  • Provide real-time coaching to leaders navigating conflict, difficult conversations, and team dynamics challenges
