About The Position

Boeing Global Services (BGS) is seeking a Mid-Level Support Equipment Technician to support the USN P-8 program. This is a long-term assignment to Keflavik, Iceland, subject to business conditions and individual performance. Relocation/assignment benefits to the international relocation will be provided. The role involves assisting the Lead Technician, maintaining systems by removing, replacing, repairing, or upgrading components, troubleshooting problems, conducting routine functional tests, performing visual inspections, and documenting maintenance and inspection actions. The employee must be willing and able to deploy/travel to various locations (domestic and international) for varying durations to meet customer needs and the statement of work, potentially on short notice. Work is performed under general supervision with minimal direction.

Requirements

  • 3+ years' experience maintaining aircraft Ground Support Equipment
  • Ability to work and support a 24/7 on-call rotation environment
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally on short notice; as much as 10% of the time
  • Must be able to obtain a work visa, depending on requirements of the country
  • Must be able to meet the cultural requirements of the country, as applicable
  • Must be able to obtain clearances from International Health Services
  • Receipt of a visa/work permit to the country in which he or she will be assigned
  • Satisfy the Company's Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process
  • Must have an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using Microsoft Office Applications (Word/Excel/Outlook)
  • General automotive servicing experience with an electrical, hydraulic, and internal combustion engine background

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Lead Technician as needed in daily accomplishments and tasking
  • Maintain a limited number of systems by removing, replacing, repairing or upgrading components
  • Troubleshoot problems to isolate faulty components
  • Conduct routine functional tests by operating equipment and using appropriate test equipment
  • Perform a variety of visual inspections as required by equipment maintenance documents
  • Document maintenance and inspection actions as required
  • Create and maintain maintenance, calibration and inventory tracking systems
  • Willing and able to deploy/travel to a variety of locations (domestic and international) and for a variety of deployment durations to meet customer needs and the statement of work.
