About The Position

Boeing Global Services (BGS) is seeking a Mid-Level Support Equipment Technician to support the USN P-8 program. This is a long-term assignment to Keflavik, Iceland, subject to business conditions and individual performance. Relocation/assignment benefits to the international relocation will be provided. The employee must be willing and able to deploy/travel to a variety of locations (domestic and international) and for a variety of deployment durations to meet customer needs and the statement of work. Work under general supervision and with minimal direction.

Requirements

  • 3+ years' experience maintaining aircraft Ground Support Equipment
  • Ability to work and support a 24/7 on-call rotation environment
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally on short notice; as much as 10% of the time
  • Candidate must be able to obtain a work visa, depending on requirements of the country
  • Candidate must be able to meet the cultural requirements of the country, as applicable
  • Employment is contingent on the candidate’s ability to satisfy all labor and immigration formalities of the country
  • The offer will be contingent upon the candidate’s ability to obtain clearances from International Health Services and the receipt of a visa/work permit to the country in which he or she will be assigned.
  • Requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using Microsoft Office Applications (Word/Excel/Outlook)
  • General automotive servicing experience with an electrical, hydraulic, and internal combustion engine background

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Lead Technician as needed in daily accomplishments and tasking
  • Maintain a limited number of systems by removing, replacing, repairing or upgrading components
  • Troubleshoot problems to isolate faulty components
  • Conduct routine functional tests by operating equipment and using appropriate test equipment
  • Perform a variety of visual inspections as required by equipment maintenance documents
  • Document maintenance and inspection actions as required
  • Create and maintain maintenance, calibration and inventory tracking systems
