About The Position

This role is for an Owner/Operator at Your Independent Grocer in Sudbury, ON. The focus is on delivering a great employee and customer experience across all store departments. The future Franchisee will be supported by a network of District Managers and Customer Experience Specialists to grow their business. The role involves overseeing all operational functions, including setting targets, managing costs, recruiting, inspiring, coaching, training, and ensuring superior customer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Solid merchandising and marketing knowledge with the ability to execute programs to drive sales and gross profit.
  • Proficiency in Fresh and Dry Operations, inventory control, cash office operations, Microsoft Office, and SAP.
  • Ability to remain composed and make sound decisions under pressure while achieving results.
  • Candidates who are 18 years or older are required to complete a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

  • Drive increased sales performance by championing the We Love Food culture, and adopting creative merchandising, advertising, and suggestive selling strategies.
  • Focus on cost by continuously seeking ways to become more productive and efficient.
  • Take care of each other by proactively making the business the best by building a strong team and focusing on community involvement.
  • Lead and motivate the in-store team by building positive employee relations.
  • Liaise with community partners to foster a positive relationship while establishing a strong community presence.
  • Collaborate with Department Teams to plan, develop and execute in-store programs and events.
  • Meet and exceed financial performance budgets/targets, particularly in Sales, Shrink, Labour, and Controllable Expenses, as well as operational metrics including NPS and Inventory Management.
  • Effectively build relationships with Customers, Employees, District Managers, Store Support, Specialists, and Vendors.
  • Respond to all concerns, queries, or complaints from customers or employees with timeliness and professionalism.
  • Problem-solve day-to-day operational issues as they arise.
  • Adhere to Operational Store Standard Guidelines.
  • Adhere to and maintain compliance with all Legislative and legal requirements.
