Allied Veterinary Specialists (AVS) is opening our brand-new, state-of-the-art Emergency & Specialty Hospital in Jacksonville, and we’re looking for experienced, compassionate Veterinary Technicians to join our overnight Emergency & Critical Care team. At AVS, patient care is our #1 standard. Our overnight technicians will play an essential role in providing exceptional, attentive care to hospitalized and emergency patients throughout the night—with the opportunity to work alongside and be supported by a board-certified Criticalist in the management of critically ill and complex patients.

Responsibilities

Monitoring hospitalized patients
Responding to emergencies
Recognizing subtle changes in patient status
Collaborating closely with doctors and the Critical Care team
ICU and hospitalized patient management
Advanced patient monitoring and nursing care
Emergency stabilization and triage
Critical and complex case management
Continuous rate infusions and IV medication administration
Oxygen therapy and respiratory support
Blood product administration and transfusion monitoring
Advanced diagnostics and treatment protocols
Close collaboration with Emergency Doctors, Critical Care, and other specialty services
Patient advocacy
Attention to detail
