About The Position
Eastern Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Center (EPVMC) is seeking an Overnight Certified Veterinary Nurse (CVT/LVT/RVT) for its expanding Emergency Department. This role is ideal for a technician who thrives in a fast-paced, highly skilled environment, enjoys the challenge of emergency medicine, excels under pressure, values teamwork, and is passionate about providing exceptional care to critically ill and injured patients. EPVMC is a collaborative specialty hospital dedicated to providing advanced veterinary care 24/7.
Requirements
- Credentialed Veterinary Technician (CVT, LVT, or RVT)
- Strong technical nursing skills and critical thinking abilities
- Ability to remain calm and organized in high-pressure situations
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to patient advocacy and exceptional client service
- Passion for continuous learning and professional development
Nice To Haves
- Previous emergency and/or specialty experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Triage and assess emergency patients upon presentation
- Obtain patient histories and perform nursing assessments
- Place and maintain intravenous catheters
- Collect and process laboratory samples
- Administer medications, fluids, blood products, and treatments as directed
- Monitor hospitalized and critical care patients
- Assist with emergency procedures and stabilization efforts
- Perform anesthesia monitoring and recovery when needed
- Maintain accurate and detailed medical records
- Provide compassionate communication and support to clients during stressful situations
- Collaborate with emergency and specialty teams to deliver exceptional patient care
