Overnight Supervisor
About The Position
Under the supervision of the Management team, the Overnight Supervisor provides daily direction to Outfitters on the overnight shift within the retail store. The role focuses on sales floor replenishment, merchandise presentation, seasonal resets, inventory management, and price change execution. The Overnight Supervisor supports the Management team in supervising associates, maintaining store standards and processes, coordinating training and scheduling, and fostering positive customer relations and a productive, harassment-free team environment. The position also supports inventory accuracy, advertised-item execution, and compliance with applicable break and lunch regulations.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 2–4 years of retail experience.
- Availability to work overnight shifts.
- Ability to read and analyze certain reports.
- Ability to present information effectively and respond to inquiries from managers, Outfitters, customers, and the general public.
- Ability to conduct meetings and presentations for groups.
- Proficiency with PC-based word processing, spreadsheets, database management, and inventory management systems.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, Outfitters, customers, and the Base Camp team.
- Regular computer work, walking, and standing; occasional sitting and lifting up to 50 lbs.
Responsibilities
- Delegate tasks and work assignments to team members, providing clear direction and follow-up.
- Ensure team members follow standard operating procedures and processes; provide training and guidance as needed.
- Maintain visual presentation standards, including signage, merchandise directives, planograms, merchandise recovery and front-facing, and general daily recovery.
- Ensure nightly sales floor replenishment from backstock, Distribution Center shipments, and direct vendor deliveries.
- Support Inventory Control by completing on-demand counts, empty peg scans, pick requests, display integrity checks, and related tasks during overnight off-peak hours.
- Support the Management team in coordinating special events and maintaining pricing and UPC integrity, assortments, inventory accuracy, and advertised-item displays, tagging, signing, and pricing.
- Support supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, training, work planning and direction, performance evaluation, complaint handling, and problem resolution.
- Assist Management and the Human Resources Representative with staffing, interviewing and selection recommendations, training coordination, performance appraisal input, weekly scheduling, coaching, and motivating associates.
- Ensure overnight Outfitters receive breaks and lunches in accordance with state and local regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
