Overnight Stock Clerk
About The Position
The Overnight Stock Clerk stocks and straightens grocery merchandise and supplies, rotates products according to expiration dates, and receives and unloads truck deliveries using available equipment and established guidelines. The role also includes basic housekeeping, such as mopping and operating floor-scrubbing and buffing machines, while using tools and equipment safely. The position requires standing and/or walking at a rapid pace for extended periods and lifting and moving items weighing up to 50 pounds as an essential function. Secondary duties may include customer checkout and bagging assistance, carrying groceries to customers’ cars, maintaining a neat work area, and lifting items over 50 pounds. The employee performs duties at an acceptable level of speed and accuracy, with limited supervision, and completes other assigned duties. Employment is subject to pre-employment background and drug screening.
Requirements
- Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 pounds; secondary duties may require lifting and moving items weighing over 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand and/or walk at a rapid pace for extended periods.
- Follow the dress code and written and oral instructions.
- Follow established safety policies and procedures.
- Work well with others.
- Speak English fluently.
- Eyesight corrected to 20/20.
- Hearing corrected to the normal range.
- Possess a full range of motion in the shoulders, arms, hands, legs, and feet.
- Subject to pre-employment background and drug screening.
Responsibilities
- Stock and straighten merchandise and supplies.
- Rotate merchandise as necessary according to product expiration dates.
- Receive and unload truck deliveries using available equipment and established guidelines.
- Perform basic housekeeping duties, including mopping and using floor-scrubbing and buffing machines.
- Operate required tools and equipment safely, except when restricted due to age.
- Maintain a clean and neat work area.
- Unload groceries from customers’ shopping carts.
- Operate cashier equipment and systems.
- Carry or cart groceries to customers’ cars.
- Bag or package customers’ purchases using the correct size and quantity of bags.
- Perform essential job functions at an acceptable level of speed and accuracy and with limited supervision.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
