About The Position

Visiting Angels of Kansas City is hiring an Overnight Caregiver to support senior adults and home-care clients throughout the local area, including Olathe, Kansas City, Overland Park, Shawnee, and Prairie Village. Caregivers help clients remain or recover at home with dignity. Client visits vary, and caregivers must be prepared to respond quickly to medical emergencies and report health changes or unusual circumstances. The role calls for competency, compassion, and professional discernment. Shift options include full-time, part-time, 8-hour, 10-hour, and 12-hour shifts, PRN, and short shifts.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Excellent time-management skills.
Reliable transportation to client visits.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Familiarity with basic housekeeping and cooking tasks.
Ability to pass a background check and drug screen.
Training or knowledge in First Aid and emergency response.
A heart for vulnerable people seeking meaningful companionship.
Willingness to comply with state and office-specific health and safety standards.

Responsibilities

Help clients with personal care and hygiene.
Manage light housekeeping.
Encourage clients to meet exercise and fitness goals.
Prompt clients to take prescription medications at the appropriate times.
Help clients shop and put away groceries, or shop for them.
Plan and prepare meals in collaboration with clients, based on client ability.
Assist clients with mobility and ambulation, including moving around the home, visiting the doctor, and taking walks.
Respond promptly to medical emergencies and report health changes or unusual circumstances.
