About The Position

The Tree Groundperson assists with trimming and removing trees and unwanted, diseased, or dying limbs to support tree health and the safety of surrounding areas. The role provides ground support to tree-care crew members, including handling ropes and tools, managing traffic near the work site, processing brush and wood, and cleaning up the site. The position is onsite in Olathe, Kansas, and includes travel expectations of up to 25%.

Requirements

A driver's license is required.
A pesticide license is required if mandated by state law.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Commercial driver's license preferred and may be required depending on job requirements.
Herbicide license is a plus.

Responsibilities

Support crew members by controlling lowering ropes and helping lower limbs and workers from aloft.
Supply tools to tree workers.
Control road and sidewalk traffic as needed using warning devices and other methods.
Cut and chip brush and wood, grind stumps, load materials, and properly clean up the job site.
