About The Position

Safely operate overhead cranes to lift, position, and move materials throughout the production floor while maintaining compliance with all company safety policies and operational procedures. This role requires understanding and adherence to crane load limits, proper rigging practices, and all Red Dot safety policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and company guidelines. The operator will also maintain current knowledge of company policies, procedures, and safety requirements, and participate in all required safety meetings and training programs.

Requirements

Complete the required crane safety training video.
Read and sign the Crane Operator Job Description.
Demonstrate safe crane operation to the East Side Supervisor.
Demonstrate the ability to safely operate all assigned equipment.
Comply with all requirements outlined in Red Dot’s Safety Manual.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to listen attentively, work collaboratively, and be receptive to feedback.
Reliable attendance and punctuality.
Ability to follow company policies regarding time-off requests and emergency absences.
Sound judgment appropriate to the level of responsibility.
Ability to anticipate problems, analyze situations, and work independently to resolve issues and complete assignments.

Responsibilities

Safely operate overhead cranes within the fabrication shop and production areas.
Perform pre-operation inspections of cranes to ensure equipment is functioning properly and safely.
Inspect chains, slings, hooks, and all rigging attachments prior to use.
Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate crane movements and ensure a safe work environment.
Understand and adhere to crane load limits and proper rigging practices.
Follow all Red Dot safety policies, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and company guidelines.
Maintain current knowledge of company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
Participate in all required safety meetings and training programs provided by Red Dot.
Support safety initiatives and productivity improvement projects within the fabrication shop.
Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
