About The Position

To define the roles, responsibilities, and competence requirements for the Overhead Crane Operator to ensure safe, efficient, and quality-compliant material handling operations in accordance with ISO 9001:2015 standards. This job description applies to all personnel operating overhead cranes within the facility for the movement, lifting, and positioning of materials, products, and equipment.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Minimum 2 years of crane operation experience (or as defined by company).
Knowledge of crane controls and lifting techniques.
Understanding of load charts and weight limits.
Basic knowledge of safety and quality requirements.
Ability to communicate effectively with team members.
Certified crane operator training
Safety training (OSHA or equivalent)
Internal quality and operational procedures training

Responsibilities

Operate overhead crane to lift, move, position, and place materials safely and efficiently.
Inspect crane equipment prior to use (hooks, cables, controls, safety devices).
Follow approved lifting procedures and work instructions.
Ensure correct load handling techniques to prevent product damage.
Maintain clear communication with signalers or ground personnel.
Ensure materials are handled in a manner that prevents damage or nonconformity.
Follow quality procedures for handling customer or production materials.
Report any nonconforming materials or incidents to supervisor immediately.
Comply with all safety rules, PPE requirements, and lifting regulations.
Do not operate faulty or unsafe equipment.
Participate in safety training and toolbox talks.
Immediately report hazards, near misses, or accidents.
Conduct daily inspection checklists prior to operation.
Report defects and tag-out unsafe equipment.
Maintain cleanliness of crane and work area.
