About The Position

This role involves performing inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on overhead hoists, cranes, and lifting equipment. The technician will diagnose and troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues, repairing or replacing various components. Responsibilities include conducting operational and load testing, interpreting technical documentation, completing reports, ensuring safety compliance, identifying equipment deficiencies, communicating with stakeholders, and maintaining tools and vehicles.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Minimum of 2 years of experience maintaining, inspecting, or repairing overhead hoists, cranes, or related industrial equipment.
Knowledge of industrial mechanical and electrical systems.
Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, wiring diagrams, and schematics.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Valid driver's license with a satisfactory driving record.
Knowledge of overhead hoists, cranes, rigging systems, wire ropes, chains, hooks, brakes, motors, gearboxes, and control systems.
Experience diagnosing and repairing mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, testing equipment, and measuring instruments.
Strong commitment to workplace safety and safe work practices.
Ability to properly use personal protective equipment (PPE).
Must follow all company, customer, and regulatory safety procedures.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work as part of a team.
Ability to travel to customer or job sites as required.
Ability to maintain accurate inspection, maintenance, and repair records.

Nice To Haves

Technical school certification or associate degree in Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical Technology, Electrical Technology, or a related field.
Crane and Hoist Inspector Certification.
OSHA 10-Hour or OSHA 30-Hour Certification.
Experience with VFDs, motor controls, and PLC troubleshooting.
Rigging, signal person, forklift, or aerial lift certifications.
Technical school, vocational training, or certification in industrial maintenance, electrical systems, or mechanical equipment.
Experience working in industrial, manufacturing, construction, or maintenance environments.
Knowledge of applicable OSHA, ASME, CMAA, and other safety standards related to lifting equipment.
Ability to perform load testing, inspections, preventive maintenance, and equipment certification activities.

Responsibilities

Complete inspection reports, service documentation, and maintenance records accurately.
Ensure compliance with OSHA, ASME, and company safety standards.
Identify equipment deficiencies and recommend corrective actions.
Communicate effectively with customers, supervisors, and team members regarding equipment conditions and repair recommendations.
Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles in a safe and professional manner.
