About The Position

Johnsonville Trucking OTR Drivers transport the company’s products throughout the country while complying with state and federal laws and regulations and maintaining a safety-first mindset. Drivers represent Johnsonville to customers and at delivery locations, averaging 2,300 miles per week. They may earn a monthly bonus and can choose to break down customer orders for additional income or hire a lumping service to unload freight. The role uses 2020-or-newer tractors and late-model Great Dane refrigerated trailers.

Requirements

At least 100,000 miles of driving experience or completion of a certified truck driving school.
Acceptable driving record that meets company and DOT requirements.
Class A Commercial Driver's License.
Minimum age of 21.
Safety-first mindset.
Customer-service focus.
Attention to detail, organization, and ability to execute assigned work duties.
Ownership mindset.
Basic math and map-reading skills.
Mechanical aptitude.

Nice To Haves

Certified truck driving school.
Two years of recent over-the-road experience.
Experience in the refrigerated food industry.
Computer skills.

Responsibilities

Drive 2020 or newer tractors and late model Great Dane refrigerated trailers.
Represent Johnsonville with a clean and professional image and provide exceptional customer service.
Complete thorough vehicle safety inspections.
Complete E-DVIR reports for mechanical conditions requiring repair.
Operate legally and comply with FMCSA regulations.
Maintain prescheduled appointments, obtain necessary signatures on bills of lading, and communicate delays to dispatch.
