About The Position

Under the direction of the Operations Manager and Area Manager, the Yard Driver moves trailers to support inbound and outbound operations at the Piney Flats, Tennessee Fulfillment Center, following the established daily schedule. This is an onsite position. Relocation assistance is not available. The schedule is 1st shift, Sunday through Wednesday, 6:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The position reports to the Inbound Area Manager. The role transports and positions trailers between yard locations and dock doors, manages trailer flow and related documentation, monitors loading activity, coordinates yard operations, and helps maintain operational continuity through vendor coordination and response to priority needs.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
At least 1 year of experience operating yard tractors or similar equipment.
Ability to safely maneuver trailers in a yard and dock environment.

Responsibilities

Transport and position trailers to support inbound and outbound operations, moving units between yard locations and dock doors according to the established daily schedule.
Manage trailer flow and documentation, including updating trailer status in Scan-Data/TMS, recording load start and end times, and ensuring accurate manifest processing.
Monitor loading activity and complete manual load audit procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance.
Coordinate yard activities, including meeting drivers, dispatching trailers, scheduling moves, and completing required paperwork.
Coordinate repairs and fueling with external vendors, maintain yard organization, and respond to priority needs as they arise.
