We are seeking an Outsourced Controller to join our CAS practice and support a portfolio of clients with financial reporting, close management, operational accounting, and advisory support. This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting professional who enjoys working with multiple clients, collaborating closely with business owners and project teams, and turning financial data into actionable insight.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
  • 5+ years of accounting experience, with prior controller, CAS, or outsourced accounting experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of job cost accounting, WIP reporting, revenue recognition, and financial controls.
  • Experience working with client-facing operations and project teams in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.
  • High attention to detail, strong ownership, and a professional demeanor.
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and proactively solve problems.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to translate financial data into practical business insights.

  • Experience in construction, engineering, manufacturing, or other job-cost-heavy industries preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee client accounting and financial reporting processes, including monthly close, WIP schedules, job cost accounting, and percentage-of-completion reporting.
  • Manage client-level budgets, forecasts, and cash flow to support operational and financial goals.
  • Monitor job cost performance, identify variances, and partner with client leaders to address risks and improve profitability.
  • Prepare and review financial analysis, dashboards, and ad hoc reporting to support informed decision-making.
  • Maintain accurate, complete, and confidential client financial records.
  • Support timely and accurate monthly close and financial statement preparation.
  • Supervise, review, and coordinate work performed by Redpath associates related to accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and billing.
  • Strengthen internal controls, policies, and procedures to support scalability, consistency, and risk management.
  • Communicate regularly with client leadership to provide updates, resolve issues, and ensure deadlines are met.
