About The Position

Redpath is seeking an Outsourced Controller to support their construction clients. In this role, you will typically work directly with a number of clients each month, assisting with their financial reporting, system implementation, and operational initiatives. This is a hands-on, high-impact role that offers direct collaboration with client owners and project managers within a supportive team environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of accounting experience, with significant exposure to construction.
  • Strong knowledge of job cost accounting, WIP reporting, revenue recognition, and construction financial controls.
  • Experience partnering with client-facing operations and project teams in a fast-paced, consulting environment.
  • High level of attention to detail, ownership, and professionalism.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize competing deadlines, and proactively solve problems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate financial data into actionable insights.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA or CMA preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of client construction accounting and financial reporting, including WIP schedules, job cost accounting, and percentage-of-completion reporting.
  • Manage client project-level budgets, forecasts, and cash flow, ensuring alignment with operational and financial targets.
  • Monitor job cost performance, identify variances, and partner with client project managers to address risks and improve profitability.
  • Support client leadership with financial analysis, dashboards, and ad hoc reporting to inform strategic decision-making.
  • Ensure client financial records are maintained with a high level of accuracy, compliance, and confidentiality.
  • Complete monthly close ensuring timely and accurate financial statements.
  • Maintain and strengthen internal controls, policies, and procedures to support client company scalability and risk management.
