About The Position

Shenandoah Furniture, a division of Hooker Furnishings Corporation, is seeking a dependable individual with great attention to detail to join their assembly team as an Outside Upholsterer in their Valdese, NC location. This role involves assembling parts according to style specifications, ensuring proper fitment of frame and cover using measurements, gauges, and guides, and inspecting work before moving to the next piece. The position requires the use of proper PPE, maintaining good housekeeping practices, and performing various physical tasks related to furniture assembly.

Requirements

• Able to perform repetitive tasks such as bend, lift, twist, kneel and reach for extended periods of time.
• Able to stand and walk for 100% of shift
• Able to perform repetitive tasks using staple guns, pushing and pulling fabric.
• Able to lift up to 100 pounds of weight from floor level to waist height tabletop up to 15 times per shift with buddy lift system or hydraulic table lift.
• Able to lower up to 100 pounds of weight at waist height table top to floor level up to 15 times per shift with buddy lift system or hydraulic table lift.

Responsibilities

• Assembles parts according to style specifications
• Using measurements, gauges and guides to ensure proper fitment of frame and cover
• Inspects work before moving on to next piece
• Use proper PPE – safety glasses.
• Maintain good housekeeping practices to prevent slips, trips and falls.
• Push furniture frame to workstation, lift frame onto tabletop, apply poly using staple gun, apply cover using hands and staple gun, apply posts using screw gun, and lower frame onto ground.
