This position is for the 1st shift Upholstery team. The individual will be joining our 1st shift Upholstery Team. This individual will be responsible for leading the day-to-day activities of a Final Phase Trim shop. They will plan and schedule workloads, ensuring manpower and material come together to support workflow targets. This role assists the service center in the spirit of the one team concept and supports Gulfstream management in all company goals and policies. The Upholstery Lead must comply with all duties and responsibilities set forth in the repair station inspection manual and the standard operating procedures manual. The role involves updating and maintaining Job Safe Analyst Cards on assigned equipment, ensuring all department work is completed in a timely manner and meets quality and quantity requirements. They will also ensure maximum technician motivation, efficiency, and discipline in accordance with GAC policies and procedures. The Upholstery Lead assigns and monitors work loads, ensuring all work is accomplished in accordance with current approved technical data, including engineering drawings, maintenance manuals, service bulletins, and airworthiness directives. They will ensure department personnel are qualified and trained, fully support corporate safety, FOD, and 5S programs, and assist the team as required to achieve milestone dates and meet goals through proficient hands-on work, guidance, and ensuring required equipment and material availability. The role also ensures all required paperwork and documentation, such as ADTS, CDMS, CMP cards, and R&I log and Corridor, are accomplished, and that design and engineering drawings are used and followed. The Upholstery Lead interprets material specifications and design/engineering drawings to ensure the finished product meets requirements. Additional duties include accomplishing weekly safety audits, leading or serving on Lean and Quality Improvement teams, assisting in maintaining shop equipment and associated JSAs, and ensuring compliance with and championing safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies. They will ensure aircraft interiors are protected (PTP) and lead local and corporate safety initiatives. In support of aircraft certification and final phase testing, this role may include flight tests on aircraft as required. The position requires the ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
