About The Position

This Technical Sales role covers Western Minnesota, North Dakota and South Dakota. Sioux Falls would be an ideal residence. The mission of the role is to interact with manufacturing companies, engage in consultative conversations, identify and satisfy needs, and ultimately grow sales. The role serves as the channel of choice between suppliers and manufacturing companies, acting as a technical expert who helps customers reach their goals and suppliers market products. The ultimate mission is to gain market share, meet and exceed annual goals, and best represent the suppliers within a defined geographical territory.

Requirements

  • A degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fluid Power Technology, Automation Robotics, Motion Control Technology, or Electrical Engineering from an accredited college or university or equivalent experience in a related field is desired.
  • Practical knowledge of all product lines.
  • Ability to build and actively manage prospects, proposals, projects, and products.
  • Proficiency in utilizing the Funnel process.
  • Ability to update Sales and Funnel activities on a weekly basis.
  • Ability to schedule three to five in-person sales calls per day.
  • Ability to lead weekly Team Funnel meetings.
  • Ability to effectively utilize supplier’s time during visits.
  • Ability to complete accurate expense reports monthly.
  • Ability to complete Action Selling and other sales training.
  • Ability to draw upon Product Specialist and other resources.
  • Ability to draw upon critical thinking skills and consultative sales techniques.
  • Ability to follow all quality processes and procedures.
  • Ability to operate within the intended framework of Hartfiel Automation’s mission, values, and vision statements.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and increase market share in a respective territory with existing accounts and new prospects.
  • Grow sales within existing customers and win new sales within new customers in the territory.
  • Learn focus products and have practical knowledge of all additional product lines.
  • Build and actively manage prospects, proposals, projects, and products to address a variety of sales opportunities.
  • Utilize the Funnel process to identify, prioritize, gain, and maintain market share.
  • Update Sales and Funnel activities on a weekly basis.
  • Proactively generate sales activity by scheduling three to five in-person sales calls per day.
  • Lead weekly Team Funnel meetings and actively engage in team selling.
  • Effectively utilize supplier’s time during visits to maximize collective efforts.
  • Complete accurate expense reports monthly.
  • Complete Action Selling, and other sales training at Hartfiel, utilizing these learned skills and abilities daily.
  • Draw upon Product Specialist and other resources inside and outside Hartfiel as appropriate to support and move sales forward.
  • Draw upon critical thinking skills and consultative sales techniques to sell creative solutions, not simply components.
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Follow all quality processes and procedures as established by Hartfiel Automation.
  • Operate within the intended framework of Hartfiel Automation’s mission, values, and vision statements.
