About The Position

United Rentals is hiring an Outside Sales Rep to serve as the voice and initial point of contact for the company. The role focuses on understanding prospective customers’ needs, building relationships, and selling equipment and services. The representative manages a defined geographical territory and works to maximize revenue from facilities and construction sites. Compensation includes a base salary and monthly performance-based commissions, with a minimum monthly guarantee incentive during onboarding and training. The position is deemed Safety Sensitive under United Rentals’ policies and procedures.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Three years of sales experience.
Exceptional relationship-building and communication skills.
Strong planning, problem-solving, and negotiation abilities.
Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

Maximize revenue from facilities and construction sites in a defined geographical territory.
Maintain and develop relationships with existing customers and their subsidiary companies, acting as a single point of contact.
Prospect and qualify new accounts from existing, dormant, non-customer, and competitor accounts.
Collaborate with specialty division representatives to promote cross-selling to accounts.
Prepare sales action plans and strategies.
Develop and deliver presentations of company products and services to current and potential clients.
Use Salesforce.com and other CRM tools to develop a pipeline of opportunities.
Monitor competitors, market conditions, and product development.
Perform other duties as assigned.
