About The Position

SunSource and its family of companies represent 270+ locations and 4,000+ employees making up one of North America’s leading value-add industrial distribution companies. We provide customers with products and value-added solutions within Fluid Power, Fluid Process, Fluid Conveyance, General Industrial Components, and Industrial Repair. We’re looking for an Outside Sales Account Manager to join our team and lead growth within the Dallas, TX market. In this role, you’ll combine your technical expertise in Fluid Power with strategic sales acumen to develop new accounts, grow existing business, and deliver innovative solutions to customers.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of industrial sales experience
  • 2+ years in Fluid Power sales
  • Proven ability to meet and exceed sales targets
  • Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving mindset
  • Consultative, value-added sales approach
  • Excellent communication, planning, and negotiation skills
  • Self-motivated, organized, and competitive
  • Valid driver's license required

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, or Engineering OR 2-year technical degree in Fluid Power is preferred
  • Experience with value-add sales is strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of Automation or Motion Control a plus

Responsibilities

  • Meet and exceed annual sales and gross profit goals.
  • Prospect, follow up, and convert new OEM, Capital Project, and MRO customers.
  • Identify and focus on key strategic accounts for long-term growth.
  • Conduct detailed needs assessments and develop tailored solutions based on technical and business insights.
  • Create compelling proposals, presentations, and quotations that align with customer requirements.
  • Close deals that maximize value for both the customer and the company.
  • Provide responsive, on-time, and error-free service while proactively solving problems.
  • Leverage internal technical and service resources to deliver the best solutions.
  • Track metrics, manage opportunities, and report weekly progress using CRM tools.
  • Participate in weekly accountability meetings and ongoing training through SunSource University.
