About The Position

SunSource is a leading value-add industrial distribution company in North America, providing customers with products and solutions in Fluid Power, Fluid Process, Fluid Conveyance, General Industrial Components, and Industrial Repair. We are seeking a driven Outside Sales Account Manager to join our team and lead growth within the Dallas, TX market. This role requires a combination of technical expertise in Fluid Power and strategic sales acumen to develop new accounts, grow existing business, and deliver innovative solutions to customers.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of industrial sales experience.
  • 2+ years in Fluid Power sales.
  • Proven ability to meet and exceed sales targets.
  • Strong technical aptitude and problem-solving mindset.
  • Consultative, value-added sales approach.
  • Excellent communication, planning, and negotiation skills.
  • Self-motivated, organized, and competitive.
  • Valid driver’s license required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sales, Marketing, or Engineering OR 2-year technical degree in Fluid Power.
  • Experience with value-add sales is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of Automation or Motion Control a plus.
  • Overnight travel may be required at times.

Responsibilities

  • Meet and exceed annual sales and gross profit goals.
  • Prospect, follow up, and convert new OEM, Capital Project, and MRO customers.
  • Identify and focus on key strategic accounts for long-term growth.
  • Conduct detailed needs assessments and develop tailored solutions based on technical and business insights.
  • Create compelling proposals, presentations, and quotations that align with customer requirements.
  • Close deals that maximize value for both the customer and the company.
  • Provide responsive, on-time, and error-free service while proactively solving problems.
  • Leverage internal technical and service resources to deliver the best solutions.
  • Track metrics, manage opportunities, and report weekly progress using CRM tools.
  • Participate in weekly accountability meetings and ongoing training through SunSource University.
