About The Position

The San Antonio Museum of Art is seeking a dependable candidate with reliable transportation to join their Protective Services team. This part-time, hourly position offers competitive health plans, compensation, and training. There may be options to pick up additional shifts temporarily. The role requires open availability for evening and night shifts, specifically from 5 PM to 1 AM and 12 AM to 8 AM. The San Antonio Museum of Art serves as a forum to explore and connect with art that spans the world’s geographies, artistic periods, genres, and cultures. Its collection contains nearly 30,000 works representing 5,000 years of history and is particularly strong in arts of the Americas; ancient Egyptian, Greek and Roman art; Asian art; and contemporary art. Requirements

  • Must have a High School Diploma.
  • Ability to handle conflicts or difficult situations with professionalism and tact.
  • Excellent observation skills with the ability to quickly identify potential security threats.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for effective incident reporting and customer interactions.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while maintaining a high volume of alertness.
  • Must be able to work outside in all weather conditions.
  • Walking, bending, climbing, stooping, and lifting up to 35 pounds.
  • Must be able to sit and stand for long periods of time.
  • Physical ability to climb stairs and work in a multi-level building.
  • Must have open availability for evening and night shifts, 5 PM - 1 AM and 12 AM - 8 AM.
  • Dependable candidate with reliable transportation to get to and from work.

Responsibilities

  • Patrol and monitor premises regularly to maintain a safe and secure environment.
  • Implement security policies, protocols, and procedures to ensure the safety of personnel and property.
  • Respond to alarms and incidents, investigate disturbances, and provide emergency assistance as needed.
  • Conduct thorough security checks and inspections to identify potential risks or hazards.
  • Provide excellent customer service by assisting visitors, answering inquiries, and addressing concerns.
  • Write detailed incident reports and maintain accurate records of security-related activities.
