About The Position

Velocity Vehicle Group (VVG) is seeking an Outside Parts Salesperson to join their team. This role is responsible for cultivating and expanding business within an assigned territory, spending over 50% of time outside the office engaging in proactive sales efforts. The salesperson will develop customer relationships, identify new business opportunities, ensure customer satisfaction, and possess a comprehensive understanding of products and pricing. Key duties include pursuing leads, exceeding sales targets, coordinating with internal teams for order processing, and maintaining market intelligence. Regular collaboration with the sales supervisor and effective communication with stakeholders are essential. The ideal candidate will uphold exceptional customer service standards, promptly addressing concerns to maintain VVG's reputation and company promise of providing value with speed and trust.

Requirements

  • Five (5) or more years of experience in service or parts departments of trucking industry
  • Technician experience
  • Ability to maintain professional appearance
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Must exhibit leadership qualities
  • Must exhibit teamwork qualities
  • Show Initiative
  • Must have a valid driving license
  • Must be able to pass post offer drug test
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and clean motor vehicle record

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of VVG products and pricing
  • Identify leads, manage prospects, and acquire new business
  • Visit assigned customers
  • Prospect new customers
  • Communicate parts orders to inside parts salespeople
  • Meet or exceed new business sales goals
  • Complete prospecting activities to secure first and follow up appointments with decision makers
  • Schedule and document activities
  • Prepare and draft sales documentation and other paperwork needed to complete the sale in a timely manner
  • Develop and maintain an awareness of the market behavior and competitive trends and responds accordingly
  • Regularly meet with sales supervisor to review weekly sales activities, progress on goals and status of prospective customers
  • Advise parts people of any special needs
  • Follow up on parts order to ensure parts department is meeting or exceeding their needs
  • Act as public relations liaison for VVG
  • Maintain excellent customer service standards
  • Resolve customer complaints and provides conflict resolution to customers
  • Visit customers to provide and maintain excellent customer relations
