About The Position

Colony Tire is currently seeking a full-time Outside Commercial Salesman to join our team in Kingsport, TN! Our salesmen work for competitive, unlimited pay. Summary: Outside Sales personnel should be results-driven and are ready to actively seek out and engage prospective clients. Outside salesmen are responsible for providing outstanding customer service to customers/potential customers by selling commercial, industrial, agriculture, intermodal, OTR-earthmover, and retread tires, as well as road hazard and recommended services, benefits and product features, create long-term loyalty bonds with customers, drive sales and profitability of the store, as well as other duties as assigned by the Store Manager.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 years’ experience in tire sales is a plus.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Valid driver’s license is required.

Nice To Haves

  • A minimum of one (1) year related experience in tire sales is preferred but not required.
  • A two or four-year college degree is also preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide excellent customer service and regularly contact prospective customers to demonstrate products, explain product features, and solicit orders
  • Recommend products to customers, based on their specific needs and interests
  • Answer customer questions relating to products, prices, availability, product uses, and credit terms.
  • Solicit new accounts, as well as work on unsold accounts and existing accounts
  • Maintain margin, as well as sales volume to objective
  • Work with car dealer parts and service department as well as assisting dealers with warranty claims and point of sale
  • Plan and hold tire events
  • Collect past due accounts and manage expenses
  • Estimate or quote prices, credit or contract terms, warranties, and delivery dates
  • Prepare drawings, estimates, and bids that meet specific customer needs
  • Identify prospective customers by using business directories, following leads from existing clients, participating in organizations and clubs, and attending trade shows and conferences
  • Arrange and direct delivery and installation of products and equipment.
