About The Position

The University Outreach department within the Division of Student Affairs serves prospective and incoming students, and any other interested parties in the information seeking and application process, as it relates to the California State University system and Cal State Fullerton specifically. Our office provides campus tours, informational workshops, new and transfer student orientations, and general information. We seek an exceptional individual to join our team as the Outreach, Recruitment, and Orientation Analyst (Administrative Analyst/Specialist - Exempt I). Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university and/or the equivalent training and administrative work experience involving the study, analysis, evaluation, development or improvement of administrative policies, procedures, practices, or programs plus two years of related experience.
  • Working knowledge of and the ability to apply standard theories, principles, practices, techniques applicable to the program or administrative specialty to develop conclusions and make recommendations.
  • Thorough knowledge of policies, procedures, and outside regulations pertaining to the applicable program or administrative specialty.
  • Working knowledge of operational and fiscal analysis and techniques.
  • Ability to take initiative and plan, organize, coordinate, and perform work in various situations where numerous and diverse demands are involved.
  • Skilled in research, development, and evaluation of policies and programs.
  • Ability to collect, evaluate, and interpret data to develop sound conclusions and make appropriate recommendations.
  • Expertise investigating and analyzing problems with broad administrative impact and implications.
  • Ability to anticipate problems and address them proactively.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively interpret, organize, and present information and ideas in written or presentation form.
  • Ability to train others on new skills and procedures and provide lead work direction.
  • A background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily and is required for employment.
  • A valid California driver’s license.

Responsibilities

  • Provides comprehensive administrative and analytical support for the Department of Outreach, Recruitment, and Orientation (ORO).
  • Encompasses project management, administrative operations, human resources support, budget and financial coordination, and liaison work with Information Technology (IT).
  • Plans, initiates, executes, and coordinates complex projects, large-scale campus events, and departmental activities, maintaining accountability for outcomes while delivering high-level support to students, faculty, staff, and community members.
  • Evaluates and recommends improvements to operational and procedural processes.
  • Supports professional and student staff hiring, payroll, travel, and budgeting.
  • Applies specialized knowledge of university policies to independently resolve a wide range of work unit issues.
  • Manages communications across multiple platforms, coordinates meetings and events, and utilizes office technologies such as word processing and spreadsheet systems to complete assignments efficiently.
  • Identifies procedural gaps and proposes solutions.
  • Provides timely and effective customer service.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of new policies and procedures.
  • Coordinates travel arrangements, processes documents, orders supplies and equipment, and organizes departmental trainings and events.
  • Provides human resources support by assisting with internal searches, hiring processes, and preparation of hiring and payroll documentation.
  • Serves as the department IT coordinator (DITC), managing email account requests and tracking IT equipment and purchases.
  • Supports budget development and financial reporting by researching and analyzing data, processing financial transactions, tracking expenditures, and reconciling procurement cards.
  • Operates with a high degree of independence, manages multiple priorities simultaneously, collaborates effectively with stakeholders at all levels both within and outside the university, and provides lead work direction, training, and guidance to student staff, with additional duties as assigned.
