Hunger Solutions Institute (HSI) in the College of Human Sciences seeks an Outreach Programs Administrator to support administration of SNAP incentive programs and lead development, implementation, and evaluation of training and technical assistance needs across all HSI programs. Specifically, this position will support day-to-day operations, manage relationships with retailers and other partners, provide technical assistance, coordinate site visits and program communications for SNAP incentive programs administered by HSI. Additionally, this position will develop, deliver, and evaluate training and technical assistance resources that support program fidelity, compliance, capacity building, and successful program implementation across all HSI programs. SNAP incentive programs currently administered by HSI include both Double Up Food Bucks Alabama and Add Milk. Double Up Food Bucks Alabama seeks to increase the purchase of fresh fruits and vegetables by low-income consumers participating in the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). Add Milk seeks to increase the purchase of healthy fluid milk by low-income consumers participating in SNAP. HSI was established by the College of Human Sciences and the Alabama Agricultural Experiment Station at Auburn University in February 2012. A foundational principle of HSI is that hunger is a solvable problem, but only when the relevant knowledge from all academic disciplines is combined with the abilities and strengths of all sectors. HSI seeks to leverage collective efforts to promote development, adoption, and advancement of innovative best practices to address food and nutrition security.
