About The Position

The YMCA of Greater Richmond is seeking an enthusiastic, passionate professional to serve as an Outreach Program Associate in our community-centered, Enriching Learning programming. At the YMCA, we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to thrive. The pay range for this part time position is $23-$26 per hour for up to 10 hours per week.

Requirements

A minimum of one year related experience is required.
Must be self-motivated, organized, and possess strong oral and written communication skills, problem solving, and multi-tasking abilities.
Must be willing to work on projects with varying programming and reporting requirements.
Some evening and weekend work is required.
Requires the ability to travel to and between branch locations and event locations.
Must be able to communicate effectively with others.
May be required to lift up to 25lbs.

Nice To Haves

Experience in English as a Second Language with a strong emphasis on education is preferred.
Multilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
Experience with computers and customer service preferred.

Responsibilities

Work closely with the Regional Director of Community Outreach to facilitate community-centered programming.
Build and maintain positive, authentic relationships with program participants, community members, staff, and community partners.
Ensure logistics of programming are appropriately prepared.
Work to create a safe and productive learning environments.
Communicate with parents and caregivers of youth involved in programs.
Train and supervise volunteers during programming.
