About The Position

Coordinate and assist in the planning and management of a designated educational outreach program. This role reports to a designated supervisor. Duties may include coordinating educational outreach programs, ensuring policies and guidelines are followed, evaluating programs and making recommendations for change, coordinating finances for special events or programs, recruiting and training instructors, preparing and developing program materials, providing information to students/clients and serving as a spokesperson, preparing and maintaining program documentation and records, and coordinating meetings, conferences, and special activities. Collaboration with schools, departments, colleges, faculty members, external organizations, and others is expected. Consultative services and skills assessment services with clients may also be performed. Depending on the assignment, duties may also include sales-related activities such as identifying and meeting with client prospects, utilizing consultative selling techniques, writing proposals, and maintaining electronic records using client relationship management software. Specific assignments may also involve assisting with the development and implementation of special programs for specific student populations (e.g., NYC Studio, Global Education Initiatives, Prison Education, College Credit Plus), coordinating promotion and marketing, organizing information sessions and events, managing databases and application processes, designing visual materials, and building relationships with external partners and providers. For College Credit Plus (CCP) assignments, duties include creating and maintaining student records, attending and presenting at information nights, facilitating workshops, monitoring student progress, serving as a resource for high school partners, and providing guidance to students on course selection and academic planning. For general educational outreach assignments, support for developing collaborative partnerships with K-12 schools and educational organizations, creating marketing materials, supporting administrative processes, and assisting with strategic initiatives are included.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and two years of relevant experience or a master's degree in a relevant field.
  • Employees assigned to a sales role must possess consultative selling experience, including qualifying prospects, defining needs, questioning and listening, and closing the sale.
  • Business, employee training, and/or organization development knowledge.
  • Personal computer applications, including MS Office Suite knowledge.
  • Verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Project management, organization and customer service skills.
  • Ability to maintain client relationships to retain and/or cross-sell clients.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while working collaboratively with stakeholders.
  • Ability to work non-traditional hours for evening and weekend events.
  • Must pass a security check.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with schools, departments, colleges, faculty members, external organizations, and others regarding program(s).
  • May perform consultative services and skills assessment services with clients.
  • May supervise students and provide functional guidance to support staff and other employees working on a project or assignment on a temporary or intermittent basis.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
  • Identify and meet with client prospects, including but not limited to human resource managers, operations managers, decision-makers, executives, professionals, and employees, to present information about the university’s services and products (for sales roles).
  • Utilize consultative selling techniques to uncover organizations’ and individuals’ educational needs and to sell the university’s services and products (for sales roles).
  • Write proposals, contacts, and training plans that reflect organizations’ needs and the university’s solutions (for sales roles).
  • Maintain electronic records utilizing client relationship management software (for sales roles, Prison Education program).
  • Assist in the development and implementation of special programs, services, and on-and-off campus activities designed to meet the unique needs of NYC Study-Away Program students; attendance at some evening and weekend events will be required (for NYC Studio location).
  • Coordinate promotion, marketing, and communications for the NYC Studio program through the development and distribution of various materials both internally and externally (for NYC Studio location).
  • Assist in developing and organizing information sessions, orientations, and other events for students and community members; clarify and communicate program mission, purpose, and details to interested parties (for NYC Studio, Prison Education, Global Education Initiatives, College Credit Plus programs).
  • Update and maintain NYC Studio internship database; prepare internship files and forms; communicate with external organizations regarding internship opportunities for communication to students (for NYC Studio location).
  • Coordinate the international and guest student application process at the NYC Studio (for NYC Studio location).
  • Design, develop, and produce visual materials including original identity elements into an effective printed or electronic communications product for instruction, publication and display (for NYC Studio, Prison Education programs).
  • Coordinate production with internal and external suppliers related to the management of materials, including contracting for printing and production services (for NYC Studio, Prison Education programs).
  • Ensure that all design work follows university graphic standards and quality control principles; edit and proofread copy when necessary (for NYC Studio, Prison Education programs).
  • May serve as photographer for the NYC studio (for NYC Studio location).
  • Build a strong working relationship and maintaining communication with NYC internship providers to ensure programs are aligned with student and university interests; maintain a level of program quality that mirrors the university‘s standards (for NYC Studio location).
  • Assist with the successful coordination and execution of Global Education Initiatives through advising, counseling, administrative services, and special programming to international students at the Stark Campus, including but not limited to academic programs, admissions, and visas; coordinate with Office of Global Education (OGE) for study abroad opportunities for Stark Campus students (for Stark Campus Global Education Initiatives).
  • Assist in the development and implementation of special programs, services, and on-and-off campus activities designed to meet the unique needs of international students; attendance at evening and weekend events will be required (for Stark Campus Global Education Initiatives).
  • Plan a variety of participant gatherings for international students with community hosts, counsel students on cultural adjustments, and liaise student participants with other on-campus support services as needed (for Stark Campus Global Education Initiatives).
  • Build a strong working relationship and maintaining communication with OGE to ensure programs are aligned with student and university interests; maintain a level of program quality that mirrors the university‘s standards (for Stark Campus Global Education Initiatives).
  • Assist in ensuring terms are met regarding program requirements; ensure international students have completed all required forms, including visa and immigration documents; forward completed forms to appropriate university departments (for Stark Campus Global Education Initiatives).
  • Assist with the successful coordination and execution of the program through advising, counseling, administrative services, and special programming including but not limited to academic programs, admissions and financial aid (for Prison Education program).
  • Plan participant gatherings for students, counsel students on cultural adjustments, and liaise student participants with other support services as needed (for Prison Education program).
  • Assist in ensuring terms are met regarding program requirements; ensure students have completed all required forms; forward completed forms to appropriate university departments (for Prison Education program).
  • Create and maintain student records, notes and pre-college information (for College Credit Plus program).
  • Attend and present at CCP information nights and outreach events at partner high schools including nights and evenings commitments (for College Credit Plus program).
  • Facilitate workshops and presentations (for College Credit Plus program).
  • Monitor student progress, track applications and assist with data and reporting requirements to support enrollment processes (for College Credit Plus program).
  • Serve as a resource for high school counselors, teachers, community partners and administrators regarding university processes and student support needs (for College Credit Plus program).
  • Provide guidance to CCP students on course selection, academic planning, policies, and degree pathways (for College Credit Plus program).
  • Support the development of collaborative partnerships with K-12 schools, educational organizations, and community agencies (for educational outreach).
  • Create and manage marketing and communication materials, including websites, newsletters, social media, and promotional content (for educational outreach).
  • Support administrative processes with school partnerships, clinical experiences, and candidate communications (for educational outreach).
  • Assist with strategic initiatives, special projects, and continuous improvement efforts that advance educator preparation and professional learning (for educational outreach).
