About The Position

The YMCA of Greater Richmond is seeking an enthusiastic, passionate professional to serve as an Outreach Program Associate in our community-centered, Enriching Learning programming. At the YMCA, we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to thrive. The pay range for this part time position is $23-$26 per hour for up to 10 hours per week.

Requirements

• A minimum of one year related experience is required.
• Must be self-motivated, organized, and possess strong oral and written communication skills, problem solving, and multi-tasking abilities.
• Must be willing to work on projects with varying programming and reporting requirements.
• Requires the ability to travel to and between branch locations and event locations.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with others.
• May be required to lift up to 25lbs.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in English as a Second Language with a strong emphasis on education is preferred.
• Multilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.
• Experience with computers and customer service preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate community-centered programming.
• Build and maintain positive, authentic relationships with program participants, community members, staff, and community partners.
• Ensure logistics of programming are appropriately prepared.
• Create a safe and productive learning environment.
• Communicate with parents and caregivers of youth involved in programs.
• Train and supervise volunteers during programming.
