About The Position
The Outreach and Enrollment Associate is responsible for supporting consumers with the Managed Care Consumer Assistance Program (MCCAP). The Outreach & Enrollment Specialist will assist individuals and families in navigating the healthcare system by providing direct support with health insurance enrollment, coverage navigation, access-to-care guidance, social support referrals and post enrollment needs.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is required.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is required.
- 1-2 years of previous experience with administrative support in healthcare.
- General understanding of Affordable Care Act.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Experience with data entry.
- Team player and someone who is responsible and professional is necessary.
Responsibilities
- Assist individuals and families to apply for health insurance enrollment and post enrollment assistance
- Conduct outreach events and presentations in the community to promote MCCAP services
- Assist individuals with enrollment through NYSOH, Access NY, and Medicare
- Educate consumers about their insurance rights and responsibilities and explain plan documents
- Assist consumers address social support and other healthcare needs
- Collects and enter all MCCAP client and outreach data
- Facilitate in-person presentations to educate consumers on health insurance enrollment & post enrollment services.
- Follow up with clients to ensure connection to services.
