About The Position

The Outreach Coordinator plans community outreach efforts and builds strategic relationships between the Insurance Department of the State of Georgia and stakeholders across the state. Under the supervision of the Outreach Supervisor, the coordinator works with the Communications Supervisor to develop and implement a statewide outreach plan that increases awareness of Georgia Access, including supervising vendor activities and services. The role also supports public education and communications, organizes statewide outreach activities, responds to inquiries, and maintains community relationships and information. The job requires 50% travel throughout Georgia.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Five years of experience in communications or other job-related experience; alternatively, one year of experience at the lower-level Communications Spec 2 (GSP041).

Responsibilities

Coordinate with the Communications Supervisor to develop and implement the statewide community outreach plan to increase awareness of Georgia Access.
Supervise activities and services provided by vendors.
Assist with developing public education and information materials, presentations, and displays.
Contribute to agency newsletters, media and new-media outreach, and website content.
Organize and participate in statewide community outreach activities to educate the broader community about Georgia Access and available resources.
Maintain business plans for developing relationships and contacts.
Maintain a statewide calendar of planned outreach activities and events.
Respond to public and community inquiries and update the Outreach Supervisor on matters of public interest and concern.
Oversee maintenance of a community database of interested parties and issues.
Build, strengthen, and cultivate relationships with the public.
Perform other duties as assigned.
