About The Position

Key Program is seeking Community-Based Family Counselors (Outreach Caseworkers) in Providence, RI to work with children, youth and families referred by the RI Department of Children Youth and Families (DCYF) for comprehensive community-based services. Outreach Caseworkers provide direct intervention and case management to children/youth and their families, promote their emotional, behavioral and psychological well-being, and help them navigate the challenges they face. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in related human services field required (i.e. psychology, sociology, human services, social work, etc.) AND one year of human service experience; includes employment, internship or volunteer work
Must be 21 years of age or older
Valid state driver’s license and legally registered and insured car for daily work use

Responsibilities

works as part of a treatment team to provide family support, advocacy and intervention.
performing work within the community and homes of youth and families
establishes professional communication with DCF and community partners
assists families in identifying, coordinating, and utilizing community support resources and treatment services
organizes and provides individual and group recreational activities, informal counseling, mediation, support groups, and assistance with life skills such as job searching
responds directly to youth and families in crisis, providing in-person and telephone intervention
in cooperation with clinical and supervisory staff, participates in intakes, review and discharge meetings
communicates important case information to clinical and supervisory staff and completes case documentation
