About The Position

The Outreach Student Assistant plays a key role in promoting CSUSB and inspiring future Coyotes to pursue higher education. As a student ambassador for the university, you will represent CSUSB at college fairs, high school and community college visits, campus tours, student panels, and special outreach events. This dynamic position offers opportunities to develop public speaking, leadership, and professional communication skills while connecting with prospective students, families, and community partners. Outreach Student Assistants help create engaging experiences, share their CSUSB story, support event operations, and contribute to the university’s enrollment and outreach goals. Local travel to off-campus events is required; therefore, candidates with reliable transportation and access to a personal vehicle are preferred. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

Must complete a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the current award year
Must maintain Satisfactory Academic Progress standards
Must be enrolled in at least half-time. (6 units undergraduate; 3 units graduate) per semester
Must have a federal need of at least $2,000
Submit all requested financial aid documentation from your To-Do-List by the due date
Must have an official award notification from the Financial Aid Office
Must be a U.S. citizen, eligible non-citizen, or permanent resident
Ability to learn and perform assigned work; follow oral instructions; work cooperatively with faculty, staff, and other students; communicate effectively with all levels; and read and write English at a level appropriate to the position.
Admission or registration as a CSU student.
Maintain a 2.0 G.P.A. or greater per semester and cumulative.
Students must be enrolled in at least halftime units at CSUSB (6 units undergraduate; 3 units graduate)
Eligible to work in the United States
Social Security Card
Reside in the State of California.
Verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States and to complete the required employment eligibility verification form upon hire.

Responsibilities

Support the university’s recruitment efforts by representing CSUSB at college fairs, high school/community college visits, and other off-campus events.
Assist with student panels, campus tours, CSUSB outreach events, and other duties as assigned.
This position involves local travel; therefore, candidates with access to a personal vehicle are preferred.
