Under the general supervision of the Dean, the BHC Outreach and Admission Coordinator (Coordinator) works to engage and inform current and prospective students (from preadmission to the university through graduation) in the educational and programmatic components and benefits of the Black Honors College (BHC). The Coordinator is responsible for supporting the institutional progress on all initiatives for the Black Honors College. This work involves working collaboratively with other units on campus such as Admissions & Outreach, New Student Orientation, and Academic Advising when developing and implementing marketing and communication strategies (including related materials) that support these initiatives. Work involves contributing to developing and presenting information to Sac State staff, administrators, advisors, counselors, and/or students enrolled at Sac State (through events, presentations, workshops, etc.) to help them understand and explore the benefits of participation in the BHC. Work includes preparing and presenting information to administrators, counselors, and/or students at regional high schools and community colleges (also through events, presentations, workshops, etc.) to help them understand requirements for admission as well as resources for engagement and support after admission. The Coordinator must understand and convey requirements for admission to the campus and BHC, this includes reviewing applications and providing conditional admissions to potential students. Finally, the incumbent collaborates with the Dean and other staff to provide co-curricular activities for BHC students.
