About The Position

Alternative Wellness Services (AWS) is seeking a dynamic BHH Outpatient Clinician to provide assessments and short-term therapy for clients with chronic mental illness and co-occurring conditions. This role involves seamless collaboration with a team to address complex client needs. AWS offers a supportive and forward-thinking community for clinicians, whether they are recent graduates or seasoned professionals. The position emphasizes being an interactive team member, connecting daily with certified peer support specialists, clinical lead, RN, care coordinators, community providers, and clients. The role focuses on providing short-term interventions and solution-focused support to individuals who may not engage in traditional, hour-long, weekly office-based sessions. Requirements

  • Masters in social work or counseling required.
  • Licensed in the state of Maine as a Clinical Social Worker or Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor preferred or Clinical Conditional (LMSW-CC or LCPC-C) required.
  • Ability to pass comprehensive background check.
  • A current, valid Maine Driver's License (within 30 days of hire if applicant is from out-of-state) and record acceptable to AWS and the Agency's auto insurance carrier.
  • Current proof of personal auto insurance.
  • Proficient in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, Zoom, EHR software, and other agency utilized computer programs.
  • Ability to travel to the main office in Biddeford for occasional training or company events.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 1 year’s experience with integrated healthcare and substance use treatment preferred.
  • Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule in accordance with employee, client, and programmatic needs.
  • Possesses strong and diverse clinical knowledge, including fluency in recovery-oriented services, trauma informed care, motivational interviewing, and the treatment of co-occurring disorders, along with a solid understanding of the principles of harm reduction.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing successful relationships with key work partners.

  • Connect daily with certified peer support specialists, clinical lead, RN, care coordinators, community providers, and clients.
  • Provide short-term interventions and solution-focused support.
  • Interact with clients or team members in the office or community-based settings.
