The Director of Outpatient Services provides the leadership and strategic planning of the outpatient program offered at the facility; ensuring the program meet the needs of the community and the facility’s performance goals and objectives. Responsibilities include the overall administrative processes and management systems for outpatient services offered at the facility, promotion and maintenance of a therapeutic environment, and development and implementation of clinical treatment programs. The Director of Outpatient Services is responsible for representing the Outpatient Services Department at the executive level and in consultation with the Medical Director, developing and organizing programs of clinical services based on specialized patient populations, maintaining an awareness of community and market-related activities, providing a broad vision in the development of programs and the evaluation of current services offered, strategically solving problems that encompass the larger view of the organization, and establishing goals by utilizing an understanding of organizational dynamics in planning and problem solving. The Director must remain current on all clinical techniques, provide direction to staff and facility personnel, participate in developing, justifying and controlling the annual budget for department personnel, facilities and equipment, ensure strategic program goals and objectives are consistent with overall facility goals and objectives, and develop goals, objectives, policies and procedures related to the operational needs of the programs staff and patient care.
