About The Position

The Virtual OPS Support Clinician collaborates with a multi-disciplinary treatment team to help create an individualized recovery experience that incorporates the body, mind, and spirit of each client. This role primarily supports the Outpatient Centralized Support Office by conducting comprehensive intake assessments for clients seeking outpatient services. The clinician may also provide virtual case management and, if needed in the future, support individual or group services. This position is temporary with an approximate duration of 3-6 months.

Requirements

  • Graduate degree in Mental Health Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Social Work, Psychology, or related field, required
  • Holds and maintains an associate or full clinical license such as LCSW/LMSW/LSW, LMFT/MFT-A/MFT-LP, LMHC/MHC-LP, or LPC in CT, NY, NJ, or MA, required
  • Must have the ability and willingness to obtain full licensure in CT, NY, NJ, and MA
  • Limited permit or associate licensure in at least one of these states (preferably CT or NY) is acceptable
  • Experience with substance use and/or co-occurring disorder treatment, required
  • Experience conducting clinical intake assessments, required

Nice To Haves

  • CASAC, CAC, LADC, or LCADC preferred
  • Graduation from a CACREP-accredited counseling program or NASW-accredited social work program preferred
  • Experience in outpatient behavioral health settings preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform detailed intake assessments to determine the appropriate level of care for clients
  • Gather comprehensive client histories, including substance use and mental health backgrounds
  • Provide accurate and clinically driven assessments for substance use and co-occurring mental health conditions
  • Review clients’ discharge records from previous treatment providers
  • Facilitate referrals for urinalysis screenings for admitting clients
  • Make informed recommendations based on assessment findings
  • Coordinate and facilitate referrals for appropriate services and treatment programs
  • Develop collaborative treatment plans that may include referrals for Family Wellness, Psychiatric Services, MAT services, and other supports
  • Utilize screening and assessment tools, stage-wise interventions, and evidence-based treatment models
  • Coordinate care with the client, OPS program staff, and other providers as appropriate
  • Collaborate with family members, former providers, and referents when appropriate to support comprehensive care
  • Provide virtual case management services as needed
  • Maintain clinical documentation in the electronic medical record in accordance with agency, regulatory, and accreditation standards, including same-day documentation
  • Comply with all federal, state, and accreditation regulatory requirements
  • Complete required trainings and participate in supervision to support continued clinical development
  • Collaborate with the Mountainside team to ensure coordinated and effective client care
