This role is responsible for the evaluation and treatment of communication and swallowing disorders affecting speech, voice, language, and swallowing abilities in adults and pediatric patients. In the acute care setting, the position involves providing evaluations and recommendations for patient's candidacy for PO diet or need for non-oral nutritional support, as well as assisting in speech and language screenings and recommendations for discharge needs. In the outpatient setting, the role includes managing a varied caseload comprising pediatric speech and language disorders, voice disorders, professional voice care, augmentative communication evaluations, alaryngeal speech training, dysphagia, aphasia, and dysarthria.
