About The Position

EMPACT- Suicide Prevention Center, part of the La Frontera family, is seeking Outpatient Services Support Specialists (Receptionists) for its Glendale office. This role requires an outgoing, dependable, detail-oriented, and resourceful individual with previous experience in a behavioral health setting, doctor's office, or similar environment. The ideal candidate will represent the agency professionally, treat clients with respect and care, and be flexible to work effectively in a team-oriented environment. EMPACT-SPC is licensed by the Arizona Department of Health Services and accredited by the American Association of Suicidology (AAS) and The Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF).

Requirements

  • Minimum of a High School education (diploma) or GED
  • Two years of related experience
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to multitask
  • Intermediate typing skills
  • Strong computer skills; proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Telephone skills
  • Knowledge of privacy laws
  • Knowledge of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and maintaining the confidentiality of protected health information
  • Must have a fingerprint clearance card or be eligible to obtain one
  • Must be at least 18 years old (for support services staff)
  • Valid Arizona driver's license and appropriate liability insurance and approval for liability coverage with EMPACT - SPC’s liability insurance carrier (if driving while on agency time or on agency business)
  • Out-of-state applicants must provide a 3-year driving record upon hire

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in an outpatient behavioral health setting, doctor's office or similar environment
  • Bilingual is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Answering a multiple-line phone system
  • Scheduling appointments
  • Greeting clients
  • Performing other clerical duties
  • Maintaining professional conduct consistent with ethical professional practice and agency policies
  • Maintaining a professional demeanor and positive working relationships with internal and external team members, stakeholders, and community and business partners
  • Performing clerical duties to assist in the day-to-day operation of the clinic to ensure smooth clinic and client flow
  • Effectively managing projects and demonstrating the ability to multitask
  • Effectively prioritizing responsibilities and utilizing independent decision-making skills
  • Demonstrating initiative to work cooperatively and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Maintaining effective communication and positive working relationships with internal and external customers
  • Abiding by client's rights and maintaining client's confidentiality at all times
