About The Position

ChristianaCare's Cardiology at Avenue North is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse II to deliver high-quality, safe, and evidence-based patient care. This role is responsible for achieving optimal patient outcomes through both independent practice and collaborative teamwork within the clinical setting. The Registered Nurse II will apply the Nursing Process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care, contributing as a trusted and integral member of the healthcare team. Cardiology at Avenue North provides comprehensive cardiovascular care and advanced diagnostic services, including EKGs, echocardiography, and nuclear cardiology, with specialized programs for women's heart health and familial cardiovascular risk assessment. This high-impact role helps improve patient access, care coordination, and the overall patient and caregiver experience.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a state approved or National League of Nursing accredited School of Nursing.
  • Registered Nurse licensure or eligible for licensure in the state Delaware, Maryland or Pennsylvania & New Jersey depending on location of employment.
  • Two years’ experience as a Registered Nurse.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

Nice To Haves

  • Primary care experience is preferred.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred; Associate Degree in Nursing (AND) will be considered with an agreement of completion of BSN in 3 years.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive, relationship-based care to adult and geriatric cardiology patients in both virtual and clinic settings.
  • Perform telephone triage.
  • Conduct nurse visits.
  • Manage transitional care.
  • Engage in advance care planning.
  • Oversee disease management.
  • Provide patient education.
  • Administer medications.
  • Coordinate diagnostic testing and cardiology procedures.
  • Serve as a key liaison between patients and the care team.
  • Support prescription refill management.
  • Collaborate with providers and clinical staff to ensure efficient patient flow.
  • Respond to urgent patient needs.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives.
  • May travel to additional clinic locations as needed.
