Retrieves high volume of incoming calls, screens callers, takes messages and / or directs them to the appropriate personnel or department. Ensures professionalism while maintaining excellent customer service. Provides routine information. Maintains the privacy of protected health information (PHI) in accordance with HIPAA. Welcomes on-site patient(s) and / or visitor(s), determines the nature of their business, ensuring all policies are followed. Assists in the resolution of complaints. Independently manages requests and inquiries from all patients or visitors by responding rapidly and appropriately to complaints, and initiates de-escalation, remedies, and resolutions, or elevates to the appropriate person. Performs other clerical duties as needed, such as filing, faxing, and photocopying. Maintains work area and lobby in a neat and orderly manner. Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested. Maintains established hospital policies, procedures, objectives, quality assurance, safety, environmental and infection control. Maintains proper hospital opening and closing procedures. Implements job responsibilities in a manner that is consistent with the Code of Ethics. All other duties as assigned.
