About The Position

The University of Texas at Tyler School of Medicine is seeking a BC/BE Internal Medicine or Family Medicine Physician to join the Carthage Rural Health Clinic team. This faculty position is employed by the University of Texas at Tyler School of Medicine and will practice in UT Health East Texas facilities. The Carthage Rural Health Clinic team currently consists of 2 Physicians, 4 FM/IM NPs, 1 Peds NP, 1 Acute Walk-in NP, and rotating specialists. The average daily patient volume is 18-22, with a Monday-Friday schedule from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The role includes clinic call, with onsite lab and nearby imaging. There are teaching opportunities with students, residents, and fellows. The clinic utilizes Epic EMR and Ambience AI scribe technology to automate documentation, reduce administrative burden, improve patient flow, and ensure accurate coding, contributing to better work-life balance and revenue.

Requirements

  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
  • MD or DO degree.
  • Eligible for medical licensure in Texas.
  • Eligible for credentialing by UT Health East Texas.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a rural health setting.
  • Experience with Epic EMR and AI scribe technology.

Responsibilities
