About The Position

We are seeking an Outpatient Pharmacist to support the Veteran community in the Baltimore, MD area. This position is open to all candidates, including Locum or Traveling professionals. The role involves scheduling, interpreting, and filling medication orders, assisting with drug procurement, reviewing patient medication profiles for potential issues, and participating in quality assurance and drug utilization reviews. The pharmacist will also play a role in the professional education of pharmacy students and ensure adherence to Medical Center and Pharmacy policies. Inpatient Pharmacist responsibilities may also be required as needed.

Requirements

• Authorization to work in the U.S. permanently, without sponsorship.
• 2 years of inpatient or outpatient experience.
• Graduate of an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) accredited College or School of Pharmacy with a baccalaureate degree in pharmacy (BS Pharmacy) and/or a Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree.
• Full, current, and unrestricted license to practice pharmacy in a State, Territory, Commonwealth of the United States (i.e., Puerto Rico), or the District of Columbia.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Immunization Administration certificate.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience with the VA is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, interpret, process, and fill medication orders.
• Assist in drug procurement by reporting needed items to the unit's pharmaceutical procurer.
• Review the patient's medication profile for any possible drug allergies, incompatibilities, interactions, duplications, or compliance problems.
• Assume an active role in the professional education of pharmacy students and provide guidance through designated programs.
• Participate in quality assurance audits and drug utilization reviews.
• Act to ensure that Medical Center and Pharmacy policies and procedures are consistently followed.
• Complete Inpatient Pharmacist responsibilities as needed.
