About The Position
The UW Medical Center-Montlake Pharmacy Department is looking for an outstanding Outpatient Pharmacist Intern - Year One to join our Pharmacy team! The Pharmacist Intern independently performs a variety of technical pharmaceutical functions, such as compounding medications, filling medication orders, and preparing compounded sterile products. The Pharmacist Intern performs all duties under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
Requirements
- Open only to currently enrolled students in the UW School of Pharmacy
- Certification as a Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacist Intern with the Washington State Board of Pharmacy.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screen.
Responsibilities
- Perform certified order entry of medication orders into the ambulatory pharmacy computer system.
- Fill prescriptions, under direction of a licensed Pharmacist.
- Utilize ScriptPro Central for filling, labeling, and batching.
- Assist with online processing of prescription orders.
- Assist patients with new prescriptions and refills.
- Determine payment method and assist patients with alternate sources of payment.
- Perform charging and billing functions.
- Assist in preparation of compound pharmaceuticals under the direct supervision of a Pharmacist.
- Refer clinical inquiries requiring a Pharmacist’s professional judgment.
- Assist with Patient counseling
- Discharge medication bedside delivery
- Prescription transfers
