Under the direction of a licensed Pharmacist, the Intern, Clinical Pharmacist Year 1 performs pharmaceutical procedures for medication preparation and distribution to ensure safe, effective, and cost-efficient medication therapy. The intern is expected to exercise sound judgment and developed clinical skills to provide pharmaceutical support to the patient's plan of care based on the diagnosis in a timely manner. This role requires adherence to all local/state/federal regulations, codes, policies, and procedures to ensure privacy and safety. The intern acts as a support person to the staff pharmacist, gaining the necessary hours of experience required to be eligible to take the licensure examination to become a pharmacist.
