About The Position

Supports the licensed healthcare team in performing office examinations and procedures by organizing and managing clinic patient flow, gathering and documenting patient screening data, assist with patient and family education and communication with patient's health care team. This position will float to the following locations: DOT, OHO, ECL in Franklin and Brentwood with possible travel to other locations to be determined. The CHOC (Children's Hospital Outpatient Clinics) Float Pool is a dynamic team of highly skilled healthcare professionals who provide exceptional patient care across multiple units and specialties throughout the pediatric outpatient clinics. Float Pool team members play a critical role in supporting staffing needs while gaining diverse clinical experiences in a variety of pediatric care settings. This unique opportunity is ideal for adaptable, collaborative healthcare professionals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are passionate about delivering high-quality, family-centered care to patients in a variety of clinics.

Requirements

  • MA certification organizations recognized by Vanderbilt Health as well as the website link to see information on their certification process: AMT (America Medical Technologists), AAMA (American Association of Medical Assistants), NCCT (National Center for Competency Testing), NHA (National Health Career Association), NAHP (National Association for Health Professionals)
  • Can sit for exam if they have 12 months of patient care experience.
  • Consideration may be given to candidates that can obtain certification within 120 days, in accordance with state guidelines
  • Graduate of an approved discipline specific program
  • Less than 1 year of relevant work experience
