About The Position

Join our Outpatient Nursing (OPNS) team at Moab Regional Hospital! This is an exempt, year-round, benefited position. Anticipated Schedule: Monday – Friday, requires some on call responsibilities to include weekends, evenings, and holidays. Starting salary range: $100,000 - $115,000, DOE Our OPNS Manager position: You are passionate about patient care and are equally comfortable operating as a working manager who is primarily responsible for managing the OPNS staff (2-3 employees) along with overall management of the Outpatient program. You will hire new employees, conduct performance evaluations and disciplinary events, and be responsible for departmental morale. Administrative tasks and programmatic duties include quality control, compliance, financials, outreach marketing, and clinical oversight.

Requirements

  • Licensure (unencumbered) to practice as an RN in the State of Utah
  • Current BLS and ACLS (within 3 -6 months of hire) certifications
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and three years (minimum) recent RN experience.
  • Ability to build, maintain, and lead a cohesive work unit in a positive and effective manner.
  • High level of emotional maturity.
  • Prior experience and high level of comfort with electronic health records.
  • Able to receive and manage sensitive information professionally and maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Able to handle stressful situations calmly; emotionally mature.
  • Able to obtain ONS/ONCC Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certificate within 3-6 months of hire.
  • Able to obtain Wound Care Nurse (WCN) certification within 6-12 months of hire.
  • Able to obtain Infusion certification (CRNI) during year 1-2 of employment.

Nice To Haves

  • 2+ years of experience in Oncology Nursing
  • Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) – current
  • Bachelor of Science RN degree from an accredited school of nursing
  • Prior supervisory experience and/or leadership roles (in medical setting, community, oncology clinic , etc).
  • Certified Wound Care Nurse (CWCN, CWS, or other equivalent)
  • Infusion certification (CRNI)

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures for the department.
  • Understand state and federal regulations and requirements related to outpatient infusion and nursing treatments.
  • Promote treatment in the outpatient setting while continuing to build relationships with internal and external providers and build referrals for the department.
  • Will work closely with visiting or MRH oncology Nurse practitioner .
  • Develop and maintain programs for outpatient nursing services, including Oncology, Infusion and Wound Care.
  • Remain current in best practices of Oncology, Infusion and Wound Care nursing and ensure training of staff.
  • Understand prior authorization, coding and billing procedures for the department.
  • Develop and participate in education of patients and families regarding plan of care and post-discharge programs.
  • Coordinate orientation and onboarding for new hires within the department.
  • Review and assess competencies of department staff, and support ongoing education within the department.
  • Maintain financial oversight of the OPNS department, including monthly departmental financials and annual budgetary planning (operational and capital).
  • Participate in development of multi-year strategic plan for the department .
  • Intermittent travel may be necessary for educational purposes, as well as to meet with other organizations and providers
  • Be flexible and willing to accept other responsibilities as assigned.
