About The Position

Provides direct patient care in an outpatient infusion and apheresis setting, using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and the organization's policies, values, and mission. This is an onsite position at UCHealth Memorial Hospital Central in Colorado Springs, working a day shift for 72 hours per two-week pay period. The role requires critical thinking, decisive judgment, minimal supervision, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action. The RN may precept student nurses and new hires.

Requirements

Graduate of an accredited or state board of nursing-approved Registered/Professional Nursing program if the applicant has less than three years of experience.
State licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
Six months of nursing (RN) experience.
ONS certification within six months for new hires and within one year for new graduates.
BLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross, with the card in hand before the start date and valid through 60 days of hire; renewals must be issued by the American Heart Association.
Critical thinking skills, decisive judgment, and ability to work with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

Plan, implement, and evaluate patient care related to infusion services based on patient assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize available resources.
Monitor, record, and communicate patient condition as appropriate.
Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including transfers, discharge, referrals, and spiritual or psychosocial support needs.
Evaluate patient and/or family learning needs and provide education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
Effectively delegate patient care to ancillary personnel.
May precept student nurses and new hires.
